Loved photographing these almost 2 year old twins at their home- they are gracious hosts already, showing me their big girl and big boy bedrooms, and inviting me to read their books! Here are some of the photos from our session:

And this post marks the last post on this blog- next week will launch the new and improved Ashley Layfield Photography photo blog- so check back for the link!
I only book sessions on weekends and I try to only book one a weekend (the exception would be portrait parties or mini-sessions)- that way my work stays fresh and your experience is an exclusive, custom portrait session.
This is what Mommy looks like when she has been looking at pictures for way too long

So keep checking in…because soon you will have a new blog to look at, with nice BIG images. I will post the new link here and hope to have it up and running within the next two weeks- just in time for sneek peaks from a lovely wedding and upcoming Holiday mini-sessions!
This one however, was held in what I think is one of the most beautiful areas in Maryland- St. Michael’s on the Eastern Shore. The guests stayed at the Inn at Perry Cabin and the accomodations were stunning. No wonder cocktail hour turned into cocktail hour and half or more!
The sights

The food

The ambiance

A true retreat
I shared photos of this beautiful baby, born over 7 weeks premature, in April- so wonderfully newborn with that look of being in between worlds- the world in her mama’s belly and the world outside!

And look at Miss P now!

6 Months Old with beautiful blue eyes, pink lips and chubby cheeks- she has changed a lot!
Big sister Miss G is just wonderful with her

Cousins Miss C and Miss R joined in the fun too!

The monogrammed napkins…

The jellybean favors…

The beautiful cake (see, I told you sweet!)…

And the happy couple…

May your life together be as sweet as this piece of cake
What has been keeping me away from this blog? Well, there have been political headshots, author photos (a local writer and mother whose children’s book about adoption has been published- I will link to it when it is on sale, it will be fantastic!), a wedding shower I photographed (Stacy, the photos will be up soon!), and an event for a chapter of the Young Presidents Organization where I photographed some VIPs (very important presidents!) of local businesses.
But most of all- this beautiful, hilarious girl. I took her out to Cylburn Arboretum in Baltimore for some photos in her ballerina dress and learned that my daughter has a serious case of photographer’s child syndrome
Sometimes I have to stand on benches and act goofy to get her attention

And sometimes she just needs to run

And run

And twirl…

I love that she walks kind of like her dad

I love that she wrinkles up her nose when she laughs

I just love her.

…always expect the unexpected! This lovely family had family visiting from Texas and wanted to get some photos done of the whole bunch. Unfortunately two of the little girls were sick and not in the best mood for photos, naturally. In spite of it all, everyone was lovely and I think we got some good ones!
Mr. K was the ham of the day- look at his curls!

I often get this look from kiddos when I have a camera in their face

His sister, can you tell?

“You’re ok lady, but I’m not putting down my sippy or anything”

Beautiful baby cousin Ms. E

And a family photo with big sister Ms. G!

Be on the lookout for a third, that’s right, a third post later today. I have to make up for my blog neglect!
